The debate, held at the Canadian Broadcast Centre in downtown Toronto, will be broadcast live on CBC Television and CBC Radio One starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The debate will feature leaders of the three major political parties: Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty, Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak and NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.

The topic is The Highland Companies quarry proposal.

Stop the Mega Quarry Rally, Making History-Protecting our Future

We are celebrating how far the Stop the Mega Quarry movement has come over the past six months.

Broadcaster Dale Goldhawk will act as Master of Ceremonies for the event, welcoming a diverse line-up of speakers: Rancher Carl Cosack, Bernard Pope of the Ontario Farmland Preservation Organization, Brent Preston of the New Farm, Danny Beaton of the Mohawk Turtle Clan, Mark Calzavara of the Council of Canadians, Toronto Councillor Josh Matlow, Toronto chef Donna Dooher and Paul deCampo of Slow Food Toronto. Hobo Wally will also be performing.
