The Greenbelt or development?

Join us to understand how the Greenbelt Plan impacts development.

During the consulation process for the proposed study areas to expand the Greenbelt to include a numbe rof heqadwater and source water areas, NDACT delegated to a number of North Dufferin municipal governments; many hesitated to support the proposed expansion, and the implication for future tax base.

NDACT has invited expert guests to provide their prospective:

  • Mr. Victor Doyle, former Manager, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Planning Policy Branch and chief architect of Ontario's farmland-protecting Greenbelt.

Mr. Doyle will rebut developers claims that the Growth Plan and Greenbelt Plan have constrained the supply of land for and/or the supply of ground related housing and talk about growth planning in Dufferin County.

  • Mayor Darren White, Melancthon Mayor and former Reeve of Dufferin County.

Mayor White will provide his personal insights as to why municipalities tend to be pro-development.

Free admission and refreshments. Everyone welcome.
